Clinical History:
The patient was a 12 year old male with lymphangioleiomyomatosis. He
now presented with bilateral chylous effusions.
Clinical Physical Exam:
Unremarkable
Clinical Labs:
Non-contributory
Clinical Differential Diagnosis:
Lymphangioleiomyomatosis
Imaging Findings:
A chest film from admission showed large bilateral pleural effusions.
A chest CT exam performed seven days later better delineated the
effusions.
Imaging Differential Diagnosis:
Lymphangioleiomyomatosis
Operative Findings:
The patient underwent bilateral pleurodesis in the operating room.
Pathological Findings:
None
Final Diagnosis:
Lymphangioleiomyomatosis
Follow-up and Prognosis:
After the pleurodesis the pleural effusions resolved.
