Caudal Regression Syndrome / Sacral Agenesis

Clinical Presentation:
Bowel, bladder, and lower extremity motor dysfunction.

Etiology/Pathophysiology:
Caudal regression syndrome involves sacral agenesis, partial absence or underdevelopment of the lower extremities, and genitourinary and gastrointestinal abnormalities. Nineteen percent of patients with sacral agenesis are infants of diabetic mothers.

Pathology:
Not applicable

Imaging Findings:
Abscence of part or all of the sacrum.
