Abdominal Biopsy
Check PT, PTT, plt, Hgb, Hct
Clear liquid diet p MN
OK to puncture bowel with up to 20 G needle
Post Abdominal Biopsy Orders
Check vital signs, puncture site, and for signs of sepsis q 15 min x
4, q 30 min x 2, q 60 min x 2
Resume pre procedure diet
Bed rest x 2 hours - may have HOB up
Then may ambulate at will
CBC with differential in AM
Page radiologist with questions
Views to Take:
Bed rest x 2 hours
Check vital signs and monitor for sepsis q 15 min x 4, q 30 min x 2,
q 1 hr x 2 and then routine if stable
Catheter to ext drainage and measure output q shift
Resume pre procedure orders
