Etiology/Pathophysiology:
Diaphyseal fractures in children heal quickly and with little
deformity. The rate of healing is related to the patients age with
rapid progression from the appearance of callus radiographically at
10-14 days post fracture to bony union, obliteration of the fracture
line, and remodeling.
