Mesoblastic Nephroma

Clinical Presentation:
Abdominal mass. Nearly all solid renal tumors presenting in the first weeks of life are mesoblastic nephromas.

Etiology/Pathophysiology:
Due to disordered development of the fetal kidney.

Pathology:
Hamartomatous solid unencapsulated mass with bundles of connective tissue that grow between intact nephrons to replace 60-90% of the involved kidney.

Imaging Findings:
Has gross distortion of the collecting system, can have hemorrhage and necrosis, mildly vascular.
